The Economic Research and Strategy (ERS) team supports Laurentian Bank's various lines of business, in particular Laurentian Bank Securities and Capital Markets and its clients.

The ERS team conducts specific studies on economic and financial issues, paying special attention to :

  • Current analysis of the global economy, with an emphasis on the Canadian economy
  • Macroeconomic and financial projections
  • Sectorial portfolio strategy recommendations
  • Detailed economic forecasts for Canada and the provinces
  • Analysis of Canadian monetary and fiscal policies

Salim Zanzana is a CFA charterholder with a master's degree in Financial Economics from Western University. He works as an Economist in the Economic Research and Strategy department at Laurentian Bank Securities, where he analyzes various economic factors and financial trends. Salim started his career in 2019 as an Economist for Statistics Canada, where he focused on the in-depth analysis of retail sales, commodities, and financial security statistics.
